HAGON Offroad Twinsprings

The HAGON Offroad Twinsprings Series by HAGON has been specially developed for unpaved roads and trial riding. This series is characterized by an extra-long stroke. By using a double spring, the damper responds more quickly to unevenness.

Inside the HAGON Roadshock, a piston moves through an oil-filled cylinder. When the wheel hits a bump, the shock absorber is compressed. The piston forces oil through small passages and valves. This process—hydraulic damping—ensures that the movement does not stop abruptly, but is gradually slowed down.

Technical operation of the HAGON Roadshock:

- Emulsion system: oil and gas (nitrogen) are in one chamber. This means they contain fewer components, which makes them simple and reliable. The emulsion system has fewer wear points and is less susceptible to leaks and pressure losses. Ideal for street use where consistency is important.

- Progressive springs: the spring rate increases as the shock is compressed further. This provides comfort for small bumps and firmness for large impacts.

- Adjustable preload: a adjusting ring allows you to adjust the initial compression of the spring, tuning the response to weight and riding style.

HAGON has been manufacturing shock absorbers since 1958, giving us extensive information on more than 2200 different motorcycle models. Each shock absorber is different; length, weight, spring angle, and mounting bushes are just some of the things to consider. We are happy to explain the variable factors below.

For the Hagon Offroad Twinsprings, we have 3 length sizes: 370mm, 390mm, and 420mm.

Associated with the length and the damper, we can offer 12 types of spring rates; this is always a combination of these two variables and must be coordinated. A universal damper with widely varying spring rates is, in our opinion, not possible. Through HAGON's years of expertise in shock absorbers, we know what should be standard-fitted for your model. If you are heavier/lighter or often ride with luggage and/or a pillion passenger, we will adjust your damper type and spring tension accordingly.

All spring rates are available in black spring, chrome spring, a narrow spring (SS, approximately 53mm wide) and a wide spring (SA, approximately 61mm wide). Technically, these types of springs all do the same thing; they are all progressive.

Now that we have determined the length, damper type, and spring rate, all that remains is to install the correct mounting bushes. We also have this data for your motorcycle. If you are building it yourself, we can often fit the correct type. The variants we know are as follows:
