HAGON NITRO Series

The Hagon Nitro series is Hagon's highest quality shock absorber range. These shock absorbers are made from the highest quality materials such as stainless steel dampers, stainless steel springs and anodized aluminum adjusters. This progressive shock absorber is both hydraulically and mechanically adjustable.

The principle of the Nitro series differs from standard road shocks due to its internal operation;

FUNCTION
- These shock absorbers use high-pressure nitrogen gas to prevent oil from foaming (cavitation). There is a physical barrier between the oil and the gas.

ADVANTAGES
- Less foaming: Due to the constant high pressure of the nitrogen gas, the oil heats up slower, which means the damper degrades less quickly under heavy loads.

- Consistent damping: Better resistance to cold and extreme heat, ensuring more consistent damper performance.

- Responsiveness: They react faster and offer better stability, which is ideal for performance-oriented riding.

DISADVANTAGES
- May feel stiffer than a hydraulic (oil) damper.

The Nitro shock absorbers are designed with the following technical specifications:

- Progressive springs: the spring rate increases as the shock is further compressed. This provides comfort over small bumps and firmness for large impacts.

- Adjustable preload: a stepless adjuster ring allows you to adjust the initial compression of the spring, tailoring the response to weight and riding style.

HAGON has been manufacturing shock absorbers since 1958, giving us extensive information on over 2200 different motorcycle models. Every shock absorber is different; length, weight, rake angle, and mounting bushes are just some of the things to consider. We are happy to explain the variable factors below:

Length of the shock absorbers. We have the original length measurements of the shock absorbers that were originally fitted to your motorcycle. The table below shows our dimensions and the corresponding travel. If you want longer or shorter shock absorbers, it is possible with us, free of charge, please contact us for this.

For the Nitro series, we have 3 types of dampers and 12 types of spring rates for each length measurement. This is always a combination of these two variables and must be coordinated. A universal damper with various spring rates is, in our opinion, not possible.

Thanks to HAGON's years of expertise in shock absorbers, we know what should be fitted as standard to your model. If you are heavier/lighter or frequently ride with luggage and/or a passenger, we will adjust your damper type and spring preload accordingly.

Damper type

Suitable for spring rate

D1

16, 18, 20, 23 kg/cm

D2

26, 30, 35 kg/cm

D3

40, 45 kg/cm

All spring rates are available in black and silver springs, both are progressive.

Now that we have determined the length, damper type, and spring rate, we still need to install the correct mounting bushes, and we also have the data for your motorcycle for this. If you are building your own, we can often install the correct type. The variants we know are as follows:
